A MANNER TO SUCCESS

Allow me to make you agree with me about one thing. What makes a person successful? When I say successful what I mean is having lots of money. It is only a justification for us to say that success is not correlated with being rich and having money. You cannot be successful and describe something to be successful if it doesn’t bring you to a state of having lots of money. Fact, to be successful is to be rich or to earn money from what you are doing. It is the gauge if we are progressing. Perhaps, it is everybody’s goal to be successful in whatever area we are in. We strive, struggle, work…work…work and work.
Now , agree with me. Working doesn’t make you rich. Why? How many of us have been working for hours daily yet have not become rich? And if I may add, how many years have we been working daily for hours. Well, some gats rich but not all. Therefore , it is not thru working that someone becomes rich.
Not also thru business or entrepreneurship! Why? Think of all the business people whom you know. Are all successful and rich? You might argue and say that it depends on the business. Still! Being in business doesn’t guarantee success because it may fail! If I may add, entrepreneurship or new business ideas also doesn’t make you rich. Because again not all new ideas make it.
Consider two businesses at the same location. Both selling and doing the same thing. Both also have the same market, price, marketing strategies etc. Or, two agents selling the same project or same product. Both have the same manager and price. One makes it good and become successful the other one doesn’t. Why?!
I may use the same analogy and would just draw us to the same conclusion that all these does not make a person rich. Not talent! because we have seen talented people get rich but also not so talented people get rich and vice versa. Not education because I do know lots of uneducated people who really makes it good and big. And on the other hand, educated people who are still struggling with their finances. Again, vice versa.
Do you want to talk about our kababayans who go abroad? Some becomes rich while others doesn’t. Professionals? Same thing, some makes it big some doesn’t. Athletes? Actors? We can go on and on. May I just mention that this manner is activated whether they are aware or not.
It is not sipag at tyaga! For I know lots of laborers who have such characteristics but has not moved a bit from their status financially. They work day and night just to earn. Patiently waiting for a break in their career which never came. Five, then years had passed still no success.
Then what makes a person successful? What is that thing that millionaires have done that brought them to the state of having lots of money?
Now, agree with me. It is not with what you do that makes a person rich and successful. Do you agree? If you agree with me, lets continue.
To be rich is not a product of what a person does but how he does thing! Again, it is not with what he is into. Real estate, cars, personal business, talent, education, location, genes, connections, relatives, product etc. No matter what you are into now, you can become successful and rich! But that all depends on how you do things. Because we have seen it! Identical occupation and business, one succeeds and one doesn’t.
There is a process of doing things, a way , a procedure that brings out a successful result. Meaning, if I am selling a product and am selling it in a certain way, I can make that sale? Or if I am in a service business I will be patronized more if I service in a certain manner of service? If I have a talent like any popular artist and I perform following a procedure to make me rich and successful, then I will become successful. YES, YES and YES! Because there are millions of talented people out there yet only a few makes it because they are doing their thing in a certain manner. That also goes with any business, skill, product and I may go on and on.
Location is a factor but it contributes only little to this idea. With this I mean, if I would start an air con shop at Baguio city or a chocolate store outside a gym, It will definitely not work. But that is as far as location goes. There is a way of doing things that makes it so successful and rich.
What therefore is this manner? What is this pattern? What is this certain way? What is that ingredient that brings someone there?
This is my guarantee that if a person follows this manner in doing things, riches and success will come to him. I use to teach business and entrepreneurship to different companies, groups and schools like PLDT, TESDA, PHILEC, ATENEO, UP etc. I have seen people specifically follow step by step business and marketing strategies I have formulated. Tried and tested marketing tips. Yet have failed! This is what made me wonder what really makes a person successful.
It is not what you do! I don’t care if you are an agent of any product in cars or real estate or in your own business or even a talent. I don’t also care if your business is located on the top floor or the middle floor or at Pasig or Makati. I don’t give a _____ if you are employed or working in a factory. I don’t care where you graduated or if you graduated at all! If you do your thing in this manner, you will be rich!
