Do you already have borrowers who have started their internet cafes? I'm jaded by the saturated internet cafe market... seeing hourly rates (broadband speed too) of P10 or P15 in the city. How do some of your clients differentiate and hopefully charge a little extra?
Hello,
Actually it only seems its saturated but it's not. A cafe-next-door Internet Cafe in an average, mostly, can only have 10-20 units. Imagine, in every single hour, this icafe can only accommodate 20 persons. But your market is huge! Let's do a computation:
School nearby = probably 1000 students (high school) and 1000 (elementary)
College students in your area = 500-1000 teens
Maids/yaya = 100
office workers/call center agents = 100
Wife/husband of OFWs = 500
Now, with the above conservative computation, will your internet cafe with usual 20 units can accomodate them all? Or let us say 5 or 10 more Internet cafe in one single area?
THE ANSWER IS: NO
That's why, internet cafe business is continuously booming! Most specially now that we prices are coming up. I expect those households who regularly maintain their own broadband connection (who pays P1K/month) will be soon disconnected, and switch instead to internet cafes.
